New initiative brings real-time tracking and auto-pay to parking
Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi’s Mawaqif public parking operator, Q Mobility, has launched a new AI-powered initiative to monitor and detect occupancy rates, automate payments, and provide real-time data to users.
The pilot phase was launched this month in selected sectors, with a gradual expansion planned across the emirate, Q Mobility said in a statement.
In this pilot phase, inspectors will drive smart vehicles equipped with AI systems. These smart vehicles will manage and monitor parking operations. They enable real-time occupancy tracking and significantly enhance operational efficiency.
AI-driven cameras installed at parking entrances and exits automatically identify vehicles and the duration the vehicles occupied the parking and deduct parking fees through integrated payment channels such as the Darb Wallet, ensuring a seamless and contactless experience for users.
AI-powered smart cameras scan and recognise a vehicle upon entry. The system logs the exact entry and exit times. Once the vehicle exits, the system calculates the parking fee and automatically deducts it from a linked payment method, such as the Darb Wallet.
Faster entry/exit (no stopping to take tickets or pay manually),
Contactless and hassle-free,
Skip the wait at the parking meter,
Minimises human error in payment or timing,
Convenient for users, especially in peak hours or high-traffic areas.
