Abdullah in line for a rare feat
Abdullah Al Mosharrekh of Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club is in line for a unique feat. The 16-year-old tees off at 5.30pm today in the Lexus UAE National Junior Golf Championship, being held over the Montgomerie Dubai's Par Three.
Abdullah hopes to win the event for the fourth successive year. The Championship dates back to 1998 when Shames Al Hashemi (EGC) won the inaugural Lexus title around Dubai Creeks Par 3 course. He also won in 1999. Faris Al Mazrui (ADGCS) won in 2000 with Mosharrekh taking the next three titles.
"I am confident I can achieve victory, but the more I think about the outcome, the more I realise it might detract from my performance. I'm going to focus on each shot as it comes," Mosharrekh said.
Serious challenges are likely to come from hisRashid Al Abbar (DCGYC) and Khalid Yousuf (TMD).
