How is Ski Dubai marking its milestone anniversary?

There will be ‘10 things not to miss’ on November 12: a choreographed ski demo, an LED light show, music by our resident DJ, free hot chocolate at the Avalanche Café, ice-sculpture displays, a special area for buiding snowmen, snowball gallery for snowball fights, treasure hunt, free ski lessons and of course, cake. We have also released an anniversary video, a tribute and thank you to all of the resort’s loyal visitors and employees. All our employees will feature in the video.

What are Ski Dubai’s main achievements so far?

Our colony of King and Gentoo Snow Penguins has held over 5,000 parades since 2012. This year we launched a residents’ rate with discounts of up to 20 per cent. Ski Dubai is also home to the world’s first indoor zip line at sub-zero temperatures: the Snow Bullet, as well as the first chairlift in the world to have an angle. We have hosted six charity Ice Warrior Challenges and 4,599 birthday parties, served over one million hot chocolates and on average taught 130,000 people per year how to ski.

How do you maintain the snow at the park?

Each day, we produce about three tons of fresh snow inside Ski Dubai. As part of our commitment to being an energy efficient and environmentally friendly attraction, we make our fresh snow out of recycled water in order to minimise water usage.

What is the staff strength at the park?

317, including 38 who are dedicated to the snow park.

How many people visit Ski Dubai every year?

One million.
