RAS AL KHAMIAH: Destination Dawn, the much-anticipated 12-hour beach fest on Ras Al Khaimah’s Al Marjan Island, returns to the emirate this Friday with headliners Taboo of The Black Eyed Peas and electro and progressive house starlet Juicy.M.

Organised by the Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority (RAKTDA), the event kicks off at 5pm on May 12 with a series of support acts propping up the headliners.

Taboo and Juicy.M will be supported by DJ JadH, DJ KMRN, electro-dance combo, Hollaphonic, and DJ Umut Ilkaya, who will close the music festival at 5am on Saturday.

Sleep beneath the stars

Heightening the festival-vibe and playing true to the emirate’s name, meaning ‘top of the tent’, Destination Dawn will host a dedicated camping area allowing revellers to bring their tents and sleep beneath the stars.

Ras Al Khaimah’s leading food trucks will fuel revellers throughout the night with an eclectic menu of cuisines from various parts of the world.

Trucks include Lebanese favourites KrisKros Lebanon, Asian delicacies at Wokinaki, international flavours from Classic Joint Burger and Tandem, which serves a range of salads, burgers and sandwiches.

“Following on from the success of last year’s inaugural Destination Dawn, there is significant hype surrounding this year’s edition and we are expecting a sell-out crowd to deliver a great festival vibe,” said Haitham Mattar, CEO, RAKTDA.

“Combining world renowned DJs and cuisines, Destination Dawn is evolving into one of the region’s most unique music festivals. We have introduced a dedicated camping area this year, so our guests can set up camp and sleep under the stars on Al Marjan Island if they can’t make it through to sunrise,” he added.

Free shuttle buses

Destination Dawn ticket holders travelling to Ras Al Khaimah from Dubai can reach the party via free shuttle buses from Manara Center Parking (Noor Bank Metro Station) on Shaikh Zayed Road.

The buses leave Dubai every 20 minutes between 4-7pm on May 12, returning from Al Marjan Island every 20 minutes between 2-5am the next morning.
