1 killed, 15 hurt as scaffolding falls

Dubai:One man was killed and 15 injured when a scaffolding of a building under construction collapsed in the Al Quoz industrial area yesterday, police said.

A police official said one man was killed on the spot. A Civil Defence official said the accident took place at 12:15pm and three of the 15 victims sustained serious injuries.

According to the police, the reasons for the collapse are still unknown and investigations are on. Dubai Police rescue teams and Civil Defence arrived at the scene and took the victims to hospital.
