President of Malta visits Dubai Foundation for Women and Children

Dubai: The president of Malta recently visited the Dubai Foundation for Women and Children (DFWC) to learn about care and rehabilitation services offered to victims of violence and human trafficking.

Afra Al Basti, director-general of DFWC, received Marie-Louise Colliero Perica and her delegation.

The visit included a tour of the Children’s Villa, care and rehabilitation building, 800111 helpline call centre, vocational rehabilitation workshops and the main hostel.

Perica and Al Basti discussed human trafficking, violence against women and children, and international efforts to fight these crimes.

Perica praised the efforts of the Foundation and stressed the importance of supporting initiatives to provide care for children and empower women around the world to build safe and stable societies and a better future for current and the next generations.
