Abu Dhabi: The Abu Dhabi Municipality on Monday announced that it has replaced all old speed signs across the emirate and replaced them with the new speed limits that have come into effect, with a total of 4,095 new speed signs put up in Abu Dhabi City and its suburbs.

Ahmad Ba Obaid, director of infrastructure development at Abu Dhabi Municipality said that 17 teams were involved in the process, with a total number of 72 technicians, engineers and supervisors taking part. Obaid said that motorists should now abide by the new speed signs that have been put up.

The replacement of speed signs across Abu Dhabi comes as part of the emirate’s new speeding system which has seen the removal of the 20km/h grace speed. Under the new rules, motorists must adhere to the speed signs without any speed buffers.
