Dubai: Emirates Hospital on Thursday announced the launch of its first Day Surgery and Medical Centre in Dubai Motor City.

The modern medical centre will provide same-day surgery and specialised medical services to residents of Dubai Motor City and surrounding areas, said the hospital in a statement.

Humaid Mohammad Obaid Al Qutami, chairman of the Board and director-general of the Dubai Health Authority, said: “Dubai encourages the concept of one-day surgery centres, which have become a popular and successful concept around the world. These facilities are known to offer high-quality services and we congratulate Emirates Healthcare Company for opening this first-rate facility in Motor City.”

Yazen Abu Gulal, chairman of Emirates Healthcare Company and CEO of KBBO Group, said: “We are expanding our network into Motor City to fill a particular gap in the health care offered within this community. We want to serve the community as more than just another clinic. This expansion means local residents and guests will have access to a wider range of speciality medical and surgical services by our highly trained doctors. The medical landscape of Motor City, Sports City, Jumeirah, and Arabian Ranches has traditionally been oriented towards clinics, so with the opening of our new One-Day Surgery and Medical Centre, patients will now have access to a complete spectrum of advanced treatments, from paediatric to geriatric care.”

The centre’s outpatient services will include expert medical care in family medicine, paediatric, ENT, cardiology, dermatology, plastic surgery, orthopaedics, general surgery, obstetrics, gynaecology, ophthalmology, dentistry and radiology. The four-floor medical facility is also designed for complete convenience for patients and visitors with nearly 50 parking spaces on two basement levels.

Other facilities include eight inpatient beds, operation theatres equipped with the latest medical and surgical technologies, advanced laboratory and radiology facilities, and a fully equipped endoscopy suite that also offers laser endoscopy.

The new centre is the latest initiative of Emirates Healthcare Company which opened its new 100-bed Emirates Hospital in Jumeirah, followed by the inauguration of Emirates Speciality Hospital, a 100-bed hospital, in Dubai Healthcare City earlier this year.
