Dubai: Careem’s captains will be trained in reporting traffic accidents to police and first aid skills to be used in emergencies as part of a new agreement between Dubai Police and Careem.

Anybody who has downloaded the Dubai Police application can book Careem’s services through it.

According to Dubai Police, all Careem subscribers will also have the option to ask for a police patrol through the application during their trip inside Dubai, and a patrol team will accompany the customer and explain police’s role in the city.

Major-General Abdullah Khalifa Al Merri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, and Basel Al Nahlawi, general director of Careem, signed the agreement at Dubai Police headquarters.

Careem users can also report a traffic accident through the application.

As per the agreement, Dubai Police will conduct training sessions for Careem captains in first aid skills, reporting an accident and how to provide support to police in emergencies.

“Careem eases the lives of people by their smart services. We are keen to cooperate with the private sector to provide best services,” Maj-Gen Al Merri said.

Careem and Dubai Police will also merge their smart maps on their apps in order to send alerts about traffic conditions on the roads.
