Abu Dhabi: Ministry of Energy announced new petrol prices for October on Monday. The prices are less compared to last month. Diesel price has gone up slightly.

The per litre prices are Super 98-Dh1.90; Special 95-Dh1.79; E Plus-91: Dh1.72. And diesel price has been fixed at Dh1.89 per litre. The new fuel prices will come into effect from October 1.

The decision for the new fuel prices were taken at a meeting held under the chairmanship of  Dr Matar Al Neyadi, Under Secretary of the Ministry of Energy in Abu Dhabi, on Monday.

In July, the Ministry of Energy announced that fuel prices would be deregulated and a new pricing policy linked to global prices would be adopted.

Following the decision, petrol prices increased by more than 20 per cent and diesel prices reduced by 29 per cent for the month of August. For September, the fuel prices dropped by more than 8 per cent as the global oil prices plunged due to over production and weak demand.

The per litre prices for September were Super 98-Dh2.07; Special 95-Dh1.96; E Plus-91: Dh1.89. Diesel price was fixed at Dh1.86 per litre.
