Abu Dhabi: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, on Tuesday received Isaias Afwerki, President of Eritrea.
Shaikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, was present.
Shaikh Mohammad expressed his wishes that the visit will contribute to supporting relations between the UAE and Eritrea during the coming phase, which will in turn benefit both countries and their peoples.
The talks focused on bilateral relation and cooperation, in addition to a number of African and international issues of mutual concern. Shaikh Mohammad and Afwerki also spoke about opportunities for cooperation between the two nations in the field of economy, trade, investment and development to further bolster and develop relations and serve mutual interests.
They exchanged views on various regional and international developments and issues of common concern.
