Government agencies make Dubai Design District their new home

Four top-level government offices relocate to cultural and strategic hub

Dubai: Several government agencies have made Dubai Design District, an upmarket cutural hub on the edge of Dubai Canal, their new home, with Smart Dubai, Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), Dubai Sports Council, and Supreme Legislative Committee relocating their offices.

Mohammad Saeed Al Shehhi, COO of d3, said: “We are pleased to welcome Smart Dubai, Dubai Culture, Dubai Sports Council and Supreme Legislative Committee to our ever-growing community. Their arrival cements the position of d3 as a cultural and strategic hub for government initiatives supporting the Dubai Plan 2021. These entities play a critical part in establishing Dubai as a vibrant and dynamic city that shapes culture, arts and innovation on a regional and global level.”

Smart Dubai seeks to deliver an efficient, seamless, safe and impactful city experience for residents and visitors of Dubai with a focus on smart economy, smart living, smart governance, smart environment, smart people and smart mobility. The initiative builds on a legacy of innovative programmes developed by the Dubai government to drive global competitiveness.

Dr Aisha Bint Butti Bin Bishr, Director General of the Smart Dubai Office, said: “Through our move to d3, we have become closer to the growing entrepreneurial community of Dubai and hope to encourage the next generation of talents to become active participants in our mission to achieve the goals of Dubai Plan 2021, establishing Dubai as a smart, integrated and connected city that fosters the happiness of the community.”
