The second stage of the First division football league will be held today with all six matches being played on the same day.

Group A:

Al Ain v Sharjah, kick off 7:45 pm.

The defending league champions Al Ain take on President's Cup holders Sharjah in a high-voltage clash. Al Ain are riding high after a crushing 5-0 win over Al Nasr in the first stage. On the other hand, Sharjah, who lost the first match at home 0-2 to Al Jazira, will be looking to compensate for that loss.

Al Shabab v Al Nasr, kick off 7:45 pm.

Al Nasr's big loss to Al Ain created a lot of problems within the club with supporters asking to sack the French coach Exbrayat. But Dr. Tariq Al Tayer, chairman, Al Nasr executive bureau, had said that he was sure the problem did not lie with the coach. Al Shabab, who began with a 4-1 win against Al Khaleej, will be eager to extend their winning form to top the table.

Al Jazira v Al Khaleej, kick off 5:20pm.

Al Jazira scored an emphatic win last week when they won three away points against Sharjah. The UAE league top-scorer in 2001 and 2002 Mohammed Ennazy, who played for Al Wahda, will spearhead the Al Jazira attack along with the Colombian Alisson Pessera and Dario of Mozambiq. Al Khaleej lost their first match at home and it will not be easy for them to compensate today.

This the second match between the two teams in the past 10 days. Al Ahli won after a penalty shootout when they met last time in the President's Cup pre-quarterfinals.
