Abu Dhabi - A summit bringing together thinkers from the Arab world will be held from May 12-15 and will examine the evolving relationship between the Arab region and the world.
The Beirut Institute Summit , in its second edition, will hold 13 public sessions and five closed door policy circles. Among those attending are: Ahmad Aboul Ghaith, Secretary-General of the Arab League, Prince Turki Al Faisal Al Saud, Chairman, King Faisal Centre for Research and Islamic Studies, Shaikh Khalid Bin Ahmad Bin Mohammad Al Khalifa, Bahrain’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nohad Machnouk, Lebanon’s Minister of Interior and Municipalities, Marwan Hamadeh, Lebanon’s Minister of Education, Gassan Hasbani, Lebanon’s Minister of Health, Kevin Rudd, President of the Asia Society Policy Institute and Australia’s Former Prime Minister, as well as General David Petraeus, Chairman of KKR Global Institute and Former CIA chief.
The summit is aiming to help develop a specific policy proposal on how governments in the region must prepare for the future.
Raghida Dergham, prominent political columnist, Founder and Executive Chairman of Beirut Institute, said: “The quality of participations in the summit attest to its credibility by the regional and international community in being the platform to discuss and present policy frameworks to shape and transform the region.”
