Dubai: Motorists, including residents with respiratory conditions, have been urged to take precaution when they go out today, as winds continue to kick up dust and sand.
As of 9:25 am, at least one road accident was reported on Al Khail Road after the Umm Suqeim bridge, towards Business Bay crossing, according to Dubai Police on Twitter,
“Blowing dust and dirt may cause poor visibility. Drive carefully,” the Dubai Police said on Twitter.

Dust and sand have filled the air and visibility on roads have dropped amid unstable weather conditions in the UAE.

Residents with respiratory conditions, such as those with asthma, are also strongly advised to take precautionary measures when they go out today, as the dusty weather could lead to health problems.

As of 7.19am, blowing dust descended on Al Minhad, Al Maktoum International Airport, Sharjah Airport and Fujairah Airport, according to NCMS.
Despite poor visibility however, flights in and out of Dubai seem to operate as normal. An Emirates spokesperson told Gulf News that there have been no major delays or cancellations so far.
The weather condition, however, is being monitored and the public will be duly advised should the situation worsen.
