The mother of the two Pakistan children who died in the fire at their house is suffering from severe trauma as she kept waiting for her sons to come back from school.

“The mother of children needs help as she is devastated,” said a community member who went to see the family on Tuesday along with a delegation from the Pakistan Consulate General in Dubai. The delegation which was led by Consul General Syed Javed Hassan, included Asma Ali Awan, community welfare attache; Chaudhry Khalid Hussain, President Pakistan Social Centre Sharjah and Raja Sarfaraz, a prominent community member from Sharjah. They offered condolences to Mohammad Arfan, father of the fire victims Mohammad Salman, 8 and Mohammad Adnan 6 and also visited the burnt house.

“The mother has been in deep shock and kept on crying while holding her children’s clothes and shoes,” said Asma, who met the mother to offer condolences. “I should have died with them, I don’t know why I am alive as there is no life for me without my sons,” mother said.

The family had four children, including two boys and two girls. The girls survived the fire while the mother sustained minor injuries. The father was at work at the time of fire.

Consul General Hassan also gave Dh15,000 as immediate relief to family while the Pakistan Social Centre Sharjah gave them Dh5,000. “We are all shocked to hear this tragic news and offered family our full support,”Hassan told Gulf News. He said that the consulate would issue passport, identity cards and other related documents free of cost and on priority basis. Ambassador Moazzam Ahmad Khan also called on the father to offer condolences and assured him of full cooperation from the mission.

“The news of tragic death of boys have saddened the community and many of our friends have offered to provide help to the family,” said Chaudhry Khalid, President of Pakistan Social Centre, Sharjah.

The boys’ father said that the boys came out of the house after the fire broke out but they went back without telling anyone to get their cycles from the backyard and never returned.

On Monday, Sharjah Police also offered condolences to the family of the fire victims. The boys burnt to death when fire ravaged the dwelling at around 2pm on Saturday.

Sharjah Police, in cooperation with a number of authorities, including Sharjah Charity Association, UAE Red Crescent and Districts and Villages Affairs Department, are working together to provide moral and material support to the family.

Investigations are continuing to determine the cause of the incident.

The grieving parents on Sunday told Gulf News that it was numbing to lose two sons at the same time.

The father, Mohammad Arfan, 33, described his sons as “full of life, they made the place full with happiness. They had a strong bond between them. They loved each other and helped each other and offered their help to everyone who needed it.”

On Sunday, the family members had told Gulf News that they heard a loud explosion before the fire erupted in the house shared by two families.
