Ajman: An Asian man was arrested for committing a series of car break-ins in residential areas in the emirate, said Major Ahmad Saeed Al Nuaimi, acting director of the Criminal Investigation Department at Ajman Police.
The suspect would break window glasses of vehicles to unlock car doors before stealing valuables.
The incident came to light when the owner of a car in Al Nakheel 1 area reported to police that his car’s window glass was broken and his wallet stolen.
Owners of two other vehicles also reported damage to their cars and loss of valuables.
A police team managed to identify the suspect and arrest him from Al Jurf area.
At the time of arrest, the police found a number of stolen wallets in addition to cash in his possession.
The suspect confessed to the crime and told police that he had stolen wallets from bikes and other vehicles in addition to Dh4,000 in cash.
The suspect has been referred to the public prosecution.
