Dubai: Ahmad Mohammad Bin Humaidan, deputy director-general of the Ruler’s Court, received a delegation from the Thai National Council chaired by Dissat Hotrakitia, general secretary of the council, and briefed the visiting delegation on the Legal Affairs Department’s experience.

Bin Humaidan welcomed the delegation highlighting the deep relationship between the two countries and the importance of such visits in exchanging their respective experiences and benefiting from international best practices, which is mutually beneficial.

The delegation listened to a detailed explanation from the department team chaired by Legal Counsel Salah Bin Kalban, head of the Government Disputes and Claims Directorate. The explanation detailed the services provided by the department to government departments, entities and institutions, especially complaints and claims related to the government entities in Dubai, the department’s role in regulating the advocacy and legal consultancy profession in the emirate and training programmes.

The delegation members were familiarised with different aspects of the department’s strategic plan which supports the legal system in the emirate together with “Innovation and Future Thinking” projects adopted by the department in line with the government’s approach towards innovating and creating future government services.

The visit concluded with the head of the delegation expressing his praise for the Legal Affairs Department’s experience in different legal fields and the sophisticated technologies developed by the department to enhance public confidence in legal services in the emirate, all of which confirmed that such a visit is beneficial to learn from the department’s experience in the legal sector.
