Top industry personalities to lead debates on Middle East coverage of international Arabic-language media
Dubai: A roundtable discussion of Middle East coverage of international Arabic-language media is due to be held on the second day of the Media and Marketing Show (MMS) 2010.
The discussion will be held at the Rusiya Al Yaum's stand.
Rusiya Al Yaum is the first Russian TV news channel broadcasting in Arabic.
Launched in May 2007, it is part of the RT News brand, covering the major political, economic and cultural issues, with supporting analysis and documentaries.
The sixth edition of the show will be held at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre from December 13 to 15 at the Shaikh Saeed hall, from 10am to 7pm daily.
Top industry personalities are expected to lead the debates and conferences, including Abed Al Bari Atwan, editor-in chief of the London-based pan-Arab newspaper Al Quds Al Arabi, Dr Nabil Al Khatib, Executive Editor at the Al Arabiya channel, among others.
Dubai Press Club has partnered with MMS 2010 and will sponsor the show's press centre during the three-day event.
Al Ahram, the most prominent Egyptian newspaper, will organise a seminar entitled "Way of news organisations to the media companies" on December 13, attended by international and Arab experts, and a number of senior media experts. The seminar will consist of two working sessions. The first will deal with the realities and prospects of the challenges of the digital age, and the second will tackle the development of the Arab press in the digital era.
Orient-ESJ will also conduct a workshop for those entering a media career.
