Manama: The government is seriously considering the use of solar energy, the head of Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) has said.

"Solar energy has been part of Kuwait's multi-billion dollar development plan. It will be initiated in Kuwait during the next five years," Ali Muhammad Thunayan Al Ghanim, said.

Addressing a visiting German delegation, he assured them of the chamber's drive to boost the use of solar energy.

"Your presence here today is surely a wonderful opportunity for both us. You might talk to our competent authorities directly about solar energy and we could help you, on behalf of the chamber in many ways," he said, as quoted by Kuwait Times daily.
