The Emirates’ annual Abu Dhabi Art Fair is returning this year from November 16 to 20 and it’s bigger than ever featuring 33 new galleries from 27 different countries. In total the art fair will present 78 galleries, a public engagement programme, and art installations, along with its foundation as the most important art sales platform in the region.

Held at Manarat Al Saadiyat, Abu Dhabi Art Fair 2022 will feature exhibitors selected by an internal committee at the Department of Culture and Tourism Abu Dhabi, with contributions from guest curators this year that include: Rachida Triki, Emeritus Professor of Philosophy of Art and Aesthetics at the University of Tunis; Turkish-born and London-based international gallerist Jade Yesim Turanli; and art journalist Riccarda Mandrini.

Participating exhibitors at Abu Dhabi Art are open to four exhibition sectors. The first is “Modern & Contemporary, open to galleries with a wide range of works and artists, with the condition of having been in operation for no less than seven years. Then there is the “Special Projects” sector for solo or duo presentations, while the “Emerge” sector features artworks valued at under $3,000. Finally, “Focus” is for galleries that have been specially invited to participate by the guest curators themselves.

Six of the seven invitees will be visiting Abu Dhabi Art to represent Arabic creative culture, as they are all from Arabic speaking countries, with a sole European invitee from France, Galerie La La Lande. In addition, the invitees include El Yasmine Galerie D'art and Gallery Rhizome, both from Algeria; Galerie Venise Cadre and La Galerie 38, both from Morocco; and Le Violon Bleu Gallery and Musk and Amber Gallery, both from Tunisia.
