Anthony Bourdain on dining with Trump, Clinton

Hot off the heels of his big interview with President Barack Obama, Anthony Bourdain isn’t rushing to sit down with any more presidents — potential or otherwise.

In a recent interview with The Wrap, Bourdain, host of CNN’s Parts Unknown, offered up a characteristically colourful answer when asked whether he planned to break bread with Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.

“Absolutely [expletive] not,” said Bourdain, who cited his previous experience with the fellow New Yorker as reason enough to bow out of even an imaginary meal. “We know him well here. ... I would give the same answer that I would have given 10 years ago, when he was just as loathsome,” he added.

And lest you think he’s politically biased, the famous chef shared a similar (if not nearly as harsh) sentiment when it came to eating with Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton.

“I don’t think it’s something that I’m anxious to do again,” said Bourdain who added that the noodles and beer he shared with Obama was “an extraordinary occurrence.”
