Following the Rs1 billion success of his Mohanlal-Shobana starrer Thudarum, which raced to the milestone in just six days, director Tharun Moorthy has announced his next venture, Torpedo.

The announcement was made on May 1 via Instagram, where Tharun shared the news on Instagram today, May 1st, with an eye-catching title poster and the caption:

“The journey continues…!! With Torpedo, we dive into deeper waters. Words by Binu Pappu, Strength from Ashiq Usman and Soul from Naslen, Arjun Das, Ganapathi and Storm from Fahadh Faasil.”

Power-packed cast and creative team

Torpedo features a dynamic cast led by acclaimed actor Fahadh Faasil, along with rising stars Naslen K. Gafoor, Arjun Das, and Ganapathi. This marks another promising collaboration in the Malayalam film industry, especially with the screenplay penned by actor and Thudarum co-star Binu Pappu.

Visuals, action, and a-list crew

The film’s production design will be helmed by Gokul Das, with Mashar Hamsa handling costume design. High-octane action sequences are set to be choreographed by Supreme Sundar. Distribution is being managed by Central Pictures, and marketing and promotions by Obscure Entertainments.

Other key contributors include production controller Sudharman Vallikunnu, still photographer Amal C. Sadhar, and visual design by the acclaimed OldMonks studio.

What the cast is up to

Fahadh Faasil is also gearing up for Karate Chandran, an upcoming film by debut director Roy—associate of Dileesh Pothan—and produced by Bhavana Studios.

Naslen, who rose to fame with Premalu, and Ganapathi, both of whom recently appeared in Allapuzha Gymkhana, will reunite on-screen in Torpedo. The sports drama, directed by Khalid Rahman, has been one of 2025’s biggest commercial successes.

Expectations run high

With a track record that includes Operation Java, Saudi Vellakka, and the recent juggernaut Thudarum, Tharun Moorthy has proven his knack for compelling storytelling and commercial success.

Torpedo now sails forward with high expectations and an all-star team, promising another cinematic experience that dives deep—both emotionally and narratively.
