The trailer for the Marvel epic is set to release in December 2025

We’re officially in the calm before the cinematic storm. Avengers: Doomsday is coming next year, and fans can't wait. And this one is the beginning of the end of the Multiverse Saga, that might or might not have upset different sections of fans for various reasons. (Come on, what happened to Wanda after her entire redemption arc?)
Tony Stark may be gone, but Robert Downey Jr. is not done with the MCU. He’s returning — this time as the power-hungry Doctor Doom, the twisted genius ready to weaponise the collapse of the multiverse. So, there's chaos, betrayal, and a few shock returns from corners of the Marvel universe we never thought we would see again.
Now for the part that’s breaking fans' hearts. Sir Patrick Stewart is reportedly hanging up his Cerebro for good after Avengers: Doomsday. The 84-year-old icon — who first donned Professor X’s mantle back in 2000 — is said to be taking his final bow after this film.
Industry insider Kristian Harloff dropped the news on The Kristian Harloff Show: “Patrick Stewart is going to be making an appearance here as Professor X... Apparently, he is done with acting after this. Apparently, this is it. Apparently, he's stepping down...”
If true, it’s the end of an era. Stewart’s career spans 66 glorious years — from commanding the Starship Enterprise as Captain Picard to leading the X-Men with wisdom (and that voice that could calm a kaiju).
He’ll be joined by other X-Men alumni — Ian McKellen, Rebecca Romijn, James Marsden, Alan Cumming, and Kelsey Grammer — plus Channing Tatum, finally getting his shot at Gambit.
And then there’s Wanda Maximoff. The question on every fan’s lips: Is Scarlet Witch really gone?
Elizabeth Olsen’s answer: Classic Marvel dodge. “I’ve been really proud of what we’ve been able to make... but I don’t have an answer for that.” She might be lying. (Marvel contractually requires it.)
Rumours suggest that Wanda could pop up in Avengers: Doomsday, especially with reshoots set for spring 2026. And if she doesn’t? Don’t count her out — there’s still Avengers: Secret Wars and the upcoming VisionQuest TV finale to play with resurrection magic.
With filming wrapped and the trailer confirmed for December 2025, all eyes are on Marvel’s next big swing. Avengers: Doomsday promises to be a cinematic apocalypse that could rewrite everything we know about the MCU.
