Avengers Doomsday, which has over 60 cast members, will release next year
With Fantastic Four: First Steps just days away from release, excitement around Marvel’s next phase is building, and Pedro Pascal may have accidentally added fuel to the fire. During a recent promo chat with SensaCine Latinoamérica, Pascal, who plays Reed Richards ( Mister Fantastic), might have dropped a big hint about what's to come in Avengers: Doomsday — and fans are spiraling.
While chatting with co-star Ebon Moss-Bachrach (Ben Grimm/The Thing), the topic turned to Doomsday and its sprawling crossover cast. Ebon shared his excitement about working alongside Robert Downey Jr., who’s set to return as a variant of Doctor Doom. “I was excited to work with Robert Downey Jr. I’ve loved him for so long,” he said. “He’s one of my favourite actors, he’s a brilliant actor. Come at me.”
Then came Pascal’s reply — quick, but loaded: “Too bad you don’t have any scenes with him.”
Cue fan panic.
The internet is now buzzing with speculation: Does this mean The Thing doesn’t survive long enough to meet Doom? Or, are their different universes and timelines again ( groan, sigh). Or is this just Pascal being cheeky? Avengers: Doomsday is still over a year away, but between this tease and the Fantastic Four’s uncertain future, fans are bracing for heartbreak.
Avengers: Doomsday is set to explode onto screens with a cast over 60 strong, picking up right where Fantastic Four: First Steps leaves off. Alongside the newly introduced Fantastic Four, familiar MCU heavyweights like Anthony Mackie’s Captain America, Letitia Wright’s Shuri, and Sebastian Stan’s Bucky Barnes will join the action. But before the team squares off against Robert Downey Jr.'s variant of Doctor Doom, they’ll have an even bigger cosmic threat to deal with, Ralph Ineson’s menacing Galactus and Julia Garner as the Silver Surfer.
