Nayanthara confirmed as Salman Khan's leading lady in his upcoming film with Vamshi Paidipally

Dubai: Salman Khan's next big project just got even more exciting. Nayanthara, widely known as Lady Superstar for her towering presence in South Indian cinema, has officially been cast as the female lead opposite Salman in his upcoming action drama directed by Vamshi Paidipally and produced by Dil Raju under Sri Venkateswara Creations.

The announcement was made on March 31 by the production house on X, where they welcomed the actress with a glowing note, describing her as "the epitome of versatility and excellence." Director Vamshi Paidipally also took to social media to share his excitement, writing that he had "always admired her for the grace, strength and the dignity that she always carries."

A first-of-its-kind pairing

This will be the first time Salman Khan and Nayanthara have shared the screen together, and the combination has already generated considerable buzz across both Bollywood and South Indian film circles.

Tentatively titled SVC63, the film is being developed as a big-budget action drama with a possible Eid 2027 release in mind. Shooting is set to begin in April 2026, with more details about the cast and story expected to follow once production gets underway.

Nayanthara's previous works

For those less familiar with her work, Nayanthara is one of the most bankable stars in Indian cinema. Over a career spanning more than two decades, she has worked across Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada films, steadily evolving from romantic leads to becoming the undisputed hero of her own stories.

She made her long-awaited Hindi debut in 2023 with Jawan alongside Shah Rukh Khan, a film that introduced her to an entirely new audience and cemented her pan-India appeal. Most recently, she appeared in the Telugu film Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu alongside Chiranjeevi, and she is next expected to be seen in Toxic: A Fairy Tale For Grown-Ups with Yash.

With SVC63, Nayanthara becomes the second major Bollywood superstar she has shared the screen with, following Shah Rukh Khan, and shows no signs of slowing down her push into Hindi cinema.

The team behind the film

The project brings together a formidable combination of talent. Director Vamshi Paidipally is known for crafting emotionally driven stories on a large canvas, having previously worked with stars including Mahesh Babu, Jr NTR, Ram Charan, Allu Arjun and Vijay. His film Maharshi earned him a National Film Award, and his most recent release Varisu with Vijay was a major box office success.

Producer Dil Raju brings his own considerable weight to the project. Having produced over 60 films and won two National Film Awards for Maharshi and Shatamanam Bhavati, he and Vamshi Paidipally have previously collaborated on five films together, all of which performed strongly at the box office.

For Salman Khan, this marks his first collaboration with both the director and the producer, making it a genuinely fresh combination despite the individual pedigrees involved. The production house described the project as "destined for glory," and with this lineup, anticipation is only going to grow as shooting gets underway.
