Aamir Khan's brother Faissal penned a long Instagram post
Just days after Aamir Khan and his family called Faissal Khan's remarks “misleading,” Faissal has now declared that that he is officially cutting ties with his brother and the rest of the family. In his latest Instagram post, he framed the move as the start of a “new chapter of freedom,” emphasising healing, dignity, and self-discovery.
Earlier, Faissal had alleged that Aamir had kept him confined in his Mumbai home for over a year. The actor and his family responded with an official statement, calling Faissal’s comments 'hurtful' and noting that all family decisions were taken collectively, based on medical advice.
On Instagram, Faissal wrote:
“With a heavy heart yet renewed courage, I wish to share that I have severed all family ties, as declared through a public notice. This step, though difficult, is essential for my healing and growth. Life now enters a new chapter of freedom, dignity, and self-discovery one that I embrace with positivity, truth, and strength.”
According to Bollywood Bubble, Faissal further clarified in his statement:
“I, Faissal Khan, have from the date hereof severed all ties, familial as well as in estate, with my family members, the names whereof are more particularly described in the Schedule hereunder written. All persons are required to take note that on and from the date hereof I shall not be known as forming part of the family of my late father Tahir Husain or my mother Zeenat Tahir Husain, and/or any other family member more particularly described in the Schedule hereunder written, and I shall not be entitled to any rights arising out of the estate of either of them or liable for any liability arising out of the estate of either of them.”
Faissal has also accused his family of confinement, claiming that he was force-fed unwanted medications, placed under house arrest, and pressured to relinquish his signatory rights. He further alleged that his family plotted against him and defamed him in their previous public statement.
In a firm response, Khan and his family had earlier released a statement to the media outlets, addressing Faissal’s claims, saying, “We are distressed by Faissal's hurtful and misleading portrayal of his mother Zeenat Tahir Husain, his sister Nikhat Hegde, and his brother Aamir. As this is not the first time he has misrepresented these events, we feel it necessary to clarify our intentions, and reaffirm our solidarity as a family.”
The full statement: We are distressed by Faissal's hurtful and misleading portrayal of his mother Zeenat Tahir Husain, his sister Nikhat Hegde, and his brother Aamir. As this is not the first time he has misrepresented these events, we feel it necessary to clarify our intentions, and reaffirm our solidarity as a family.
It is important to share that every choice regarding Faissal has been taken collectively as a family, in consultation with multiple medical professionals, and has been based on love, compassion, and a desire to support his emotional and psychological wellbeing. For this reason, we have refrained from publicly discussing the details of a painful and difficult period for our family.
We request the media for empathy, and to refrain from turning a private matter into salacious, inflammatory and hurtful gossip.
Tensions between Aamir Khan and his brother Faissal are not new. In the past, Faissal had taken the family to court after being asked to surrender his signatory rights. He also recalled undergoing a 20-day mental health assessment at JJ Hospital, where doctors ultimately declared him fit. Interestingly, before their personal differences made headlines, the brothers shared screen space in the 2000 film Mela, directed by Dharmesh Darshan and co-starring Twinkle Khanna.
