On his 60th birthday, Aamir publicly introduced his partner and current love of his life
Dubai: Aamir Khan has built a career by refusing to follow the Bollywood script — and when it comes to love and life, the superstar is still marching to his own beats.
In a recent interview with Screen (via The Indian Express), Aamir opened up about his next monumental project and a personal confession that has left his fans excited.
On his 60th birthday, Aamir publicly introduced his partner and the current love of his life Gauri Spratt, igniting more buzz than any Bollywood trailer. The couple—together for 18 months—are, according to Aamir, 'deeply committed'.
“In my heart, I’m already married to her… Whether we formalise it or not is something that I will decide as we go along,” he revealed, underscoring their emotional bond in that interview.
Interestingly, Gauri's a Bengaluru-based professional outside the film circle. Fans first spotted them together at the Sitaare Zameen Par screening in June, proving their debut together was genuine rather than a PR moment.
Aamir has always followed his own instincts, even when others doubted him. In an recent interview with Gulf News, ahead of the film's release, he recounted how several people advised against making Sitaare Zameen Par after Lal Singh Chaddha underperformed. But Aamir stuck to his guns:
“This script entered my bloodstream ... And once that happens, that’s all I can do. I’m not a practical person.”
In Sitaare Zameen Par, Khan plays a basketball coach to a group of neurodivergent children — a narrative that builds on the emotional DNA of his 2007 hit Taare Zameen Par, which sensitively portrayed dyslexia through the eyes of a child.
“In Taare, the teacher helped the child. In Sitaare, the children help the coach,” Khan said. “It flips the perspective — and that’s important.”
He believes the conversation around inclusion in India’s education system remains surface-level.
