Dubai police to boost employees wellbeing

Dubai: Dubai Police are cooperating with Virgin Pulse, an organisation which designs technology that cultivates good lifestyle habits for employees of firms, to discuss solutions that promote employee engagement, well-being, happiness and productivity.

Major-General Abdullah Khalifa Al Merri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, received a delegation of the Virgin Pulse at police General HQ.

“Earlier in May, we pledged to participate in the Virgin Pulse Global Fitness Challenge to boost our employee engagement, health and overall well-being. Dubai Police are constantly striving to provide the workforce with the tools required to perform at their best — to lead, to innovate and to inspire,” Maj-Gen Al Merri said.

The Virgin Pulse challenge promotes physical health, psychosocial health and nutrition recommendations and demonstrate impacts of individual health outcomes in addition to employee performance and organisational culture and happiness.

Jill King, director of International Markets at Virgin Pulse, praised Dubai Police’s efforts in protecting and securing the society.

“We are thrilled that Dubai Police will be taking part in this year’s Global Challenge alongside thousands of organisations across the globe. This visit to Dubai Police provided us with a better understanding of the uniqueness of the organisation and its valued people who have really helped us to support the evolution of their health and wellbeing culture,” King said.

Last year, after taking part in the challenge, about 65 per cent of members who tracked their weight lost weight, 68 per cent of members reported a decrease in their stress levels and 65 per cent of people considered themselves either happy or extremely happy, Virgin Plus said.
