Dubai: The UAE Embassy in Tokyo has advised Emirati citizens planning to travel to Japan to review the latest travel guidelines before their departure, citing changes to entry regulations that will come into effect next week.

In a statement on its official X account, the embassy said: “Beginning July 1, 2025, holders of regular Emirati passports embedded with an electronic IC chip will be permitted a free visa to stay in Japan for up to 90 days for tourism or business purposes.

The embassy urged travellers to consult the Ministry of Foreign Affairs official website or its smart app to ensure compliance with the most recent travel requirements and avoid disruptions to their plans.

“We encourage you to check the latest travel guidelines per destination via the Ministry’s website or smart app,” the statement reads.

The move marks a continuation of efforts between the UAE and Japan to streamline travel and expand bilateral cooperation, particularly in tourism and business sectors.
