They describe what they enjoy most during the month-long shopping revelry as thousands hunt for bargains

Dubai: The wallet is slimming and the wardrobe is filling. As the 16th annual Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) is entering its last ten days, thousands of Dubai residents are enjoying good deals and various entertainment activities.

Gulf News readers tell us what they are enjoying the most during this month-long shopping revelry.

Mohammad Tahboub, a 16-year-old Emirati, enjoys the festival's good offers on clothes.

"This is the perfect time to go shopping," he says, and explains that he postpones shopping during the year until the start of DSF.

He particularly enjoys shopping in the Global Village, although he has one complaint: "It was unbelievably crowded."

However, considering the good deals he is prepared to dive into the crowds. Mohammad hopes to do a little more shopping before the festival ends on February 20.

But DSF is not only for clothing enthusiasts. "It's often good to wait until the festival comes around if you want to buy electrical equipment,"Terry Vaughan, a 57-year-old Briton, advises.

Though work has kept him from attending the festivities this year, he has previously been enjoying the Festival's offers and discounts.

Not all people are ecstatic with the shopping options. When Rosetter Requeller Tahnson, 30, from Ghana went out to enjoy the discounts she came back disappointed. "Things are supposed to be on sale, but really it doesn't seem like it," she says.

"The prices are the same. You just get a voucher for something you actually don't need."

Anamika Choudhury, 37, from India is not a big shopper. In fact, the only clothes she has bought during DSF is a single T-shirt.

However, shopping is not the only thing that can be enjoyed during this 16th annual shopping festival. Choudhury will be taking her two-and-a-half-year old twins to see a show in Mirdif City Center.

"They are not yet old enough to appreciate much of the entertainment," she says, but is, however, looking forward to taking them next year.

Faezel Fernandes, 28, an Indian national based in Abu Dhabi, hasn't had time to visit DSF in the past couple of years, but this weekend it looks like she might finally make it.

"I would like to visit the malls for shopping. I want to see what Dubai has in store for me," she says.
