Abu Dhabi : Hakam Al Sourani, Director of IT and AV at the Emirates Palace Hotel in Abu Dhabi, was named IT Manager of the Year at the Hotelier Middle East Awards 2010.
Hans Olbertz, General Manager of the hotel, described the honour as a bright spot in the IT team's records, and said the hotel's IT is witnessing great development matching the highest standards.
Al Sourani was described as "a shining light in the IT team". His technical achievements over the past 12 months were recognised by the panel of judges.
He said this award is a sign of appreciation of his efforts in information technology. "This award is a new incentive for further innovation to serve guests of Emirates Palace and ensure their comfort," Al Sourani said.
