Dubai: Looking for the perfect Eid Al Adha escape? Or are you planning to head somewhere nearby for the summer break? Saudi Tourism Authority has released a travel advisory ahead of the upcoming Eid and summer holidays, suggesting the top five activities and tourist spots visitors must not miss while visiting the Kingdom. From vibrant coastal festivals to mountain escapes and stargazing in the desert, Saudi Arabia’s #ColourYourSummer in 2025 campaign is chock-full of ideas for the entire family.

“And if you’re wondering what Saudi is really like, think stunning landscapes, warm hospitality, and a spirit of discovery that pulls you right in,” STA said in a statement.

Here are the top five recommendations:

Esports World Cup 2025 in Riyadh (July 7 – August 24): A bit after the expected Eid dates, Riyadh will be buzzing with the Esports World Cup for families with older children and teens. It’s a fantastic opportunity to witness a global spectacle with plenty of entertainment beyond just the games. Would you consider extending your Eid break for some high-energy fun?

Coastal cool in Jeddah Season (Ongoing): Escape the summer heat with a refreshing Eid trip to Jeddah. Enjoy the coastal vibes, explore the historic Al Balad – a UNESCO site perfect for a cultural outing during the holidays – and indulge in delicious food by the sea. Keep an eye out for family-friendly shows like Forest Wonder (starting July 9), which could be a great addition to your Eid itinerary if your break extends.

Refresh Your Eid in the Mountains of Aseer (Summer season): For a truly different Eid experience, head to the calm and misty mountains of Aseer. The pleasant weather offers a welcome break, ideal for families looking to escape the summer heat. Eid relaxation and adventure on the Saudi Red Sea (Ongoing): Imagine a luxurious Eid escape to the stunning Saudi Red Sea. Spend your days kayaking through serene mangroves, enjoying watersports, or simply unwinding in a beautiful overwater villa. It’s the perfect setting for a relaxing Eid holiday with a touch of adventure. It offers a memorable break for couples and families alike.

Discover the scents and heritage of the Taif region: Take a unique trip to the mountain city of Taif. Explore the fragrant rose factories for a sensory experience, wander through the historic Kaaki Palace for a glimpse into Saudi heritage, or enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of Arruddaf Park in the cool evenings. The short road trip to the breathtaking Wahba Crater makes for a memorable Eid day trip.

How to get there, and costs

Travellers can find one-way flights from Dubai to Riyadh for around Dh537 and round-trip options to other Saudi destinations starting from approximately Dh590. Flying from Abu Dhabi could offer one-way tickets from around Dh190 to various Saudi cities, with return trips to Riyadh from Dh320 and to Jeddah from Dh470.

Hotel prices in Saudi Arabia also cover a broad spectrum, with options ranging from budget-friendly accommodations to more luxurious stays. Eid Al Adha packages are sometimes available starting from around Dh525 up to Dh10,000 in certain regions.
