New partnership to link flights and rides, with loyalty perks for UAE-based travellers
Dubai: Emirates and Uber have signed a new strategic partnership agreement aimed at making travel more seamless—and more rewarding—for passengers flying across the Emirates network.
Announced through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), the deal will introduce an integrated booking experience where flight and ride options come together. That means passengers could soon arrange airport transfers or in-city rides via Uber directly through their Emirates booking.
The tie-up will also allow Emirates Skywards members in the UAE to earn Miles for Uber rides taken across select destinations in the airline’s global network. Plans are also in the works to let members redeem Miles for Uber credits or ride vouchers, making the end-to-end journey smoother and more connected.
The partnership reflects a broader trend in the travel industry to offer more holistic services. For Emirates customers, this could mean Uber rides bundled into their flight itineraries, especially for airport drop-offs or pick-ups.
For some passengers, Uber rides to and from the airport may be included as a benefit, with Emirates targeting a “door-to-destination” experience.
The MoU was signed by Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer, and Anabel Diaz Calderon, Uber’s Head of EMEA Mobility.
“Emirates is excited to join forces with Uber to expand planning options, create more connected journeys, and introduce exciting new Skywards benefits,” said Kazim. “We look forward to a successful partnership and the valuable opportunities it will create for our customers.”
Beyond airport transfers and loyalty perks, the collaboration also hints at logistics innovation. Emirates and Uber will explore integrating Uber’s delivery network into the Emirates Courier Express service for last-mile deliveries.
If implemented, this would allow Emirates to tap into Uber’s vast global delivery partner network to speed up local deliveries, boost reach, and improve service efficiency, particularly for time-sensitive shipments.
While the agreement sets the stage for significant integration, both companies noted that technical and commercial details are still being finalised. Reward structures, eligible markets, and rollout timelines will be shared in the coming months.
To build awareness, Emirates and Uber plan to run joint marketing campaigns promoting the benefits of the new partnership across the airline’s network.
This collaboration marks another step in Emirates’ push to elevate the full customer journey—from booking a flight to reaching the final destination. For Uber, it’s a chance to solidify its airport and travel offerings in key global hubs like Dubai.
With seamless digital planning and loyalty rewards now high on travellers’ expectations, the Emirates-Uber partnership is aiming to make every leg of the journey—from home to gate—a little more effortless.
