The new centre reinforces Emirates Palace's leading market position in the UAE
Abu Dhabi: The Emirates Palace Hotel has launched the first telepresence in the Gulf.
The hotel, in association with Alpha Data, a UAE multi-disciplined systems integrator, and FVC, Polycom's authorised Value-Added Distributor in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), yesterday launched the Polycom RPX Immersive Telepresence Centre. The centre, the first of its kind in a UAE hotel, was inaugurated by Hans Olbertz, general manager of Emirates Palace, and Faraj Ali Bin Hamoodah, chairman of the Bin Hamoodah Group.
"We're excited about the launch of such a highly advanced system," Olbertz said. "Emirates Palace is committed to introducing the latest technology for the convenience of its guests and clients.
"We're launching this service for the comfort of our valued corporate clients. It also underlines our policy towards environmental issues as the system will contribute to manage and reduce the Carbon Footprint," Olbertz said.
Fayez Ibbini, Alpha Data's managing director said: "We're very pleased to be associated with this project and see a lot of advantages for Emirates Palace guests."
