Kolkata becomes fourth point in Emirates’ Indian network to feature Premium Economy
Dubai: Emirates has announced the rollout of its Premium Economy product on flights to and from Kolkata, marking a strategic expansion of the airline’s premium offering in India.
Starting July 18, 2025, the new cabin class will be available on flights EK572/573, making Kolkata the fourth city in India—after Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Ahmedabad—to feature the airline’s highly-rated Premium Economy experience.
The new service aims to offer greater choice and comfort to travellers on the busy India–UAE corridor. Flight EK573 will depart Kolkata at 20:45 hrs and arrive in Dubai at 00:05 hrs, operating four times weekly on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
The return service, EK572, will leave Dubai at 13:05 hrs and land in Kolkata at 19:15 hrs (all times local).
“We are delighted to introduce our highly-acclaimed Premium Economy experience to Kolkata,” said Mohammad Sarhan, Emirates’ Vice President – India and Nepal. “The positive reception in Mumbai, Bengaluru and Ahmedabad shows there’s strong demand for this elevated offering, and we are confident it will resonate well with travellers in Kolkata.”
Emirates’ Premium Economy offers a host of enhanced features aimed at comfort-conscious travellers:
Wider cream leather seats with generous legroom and a deeper recline
Adjustable headrests and cushioned leg rests
Gourmet regional meals served on Royal Doulton china with stainless steel cutlery
Curated wine list and premium beverage options
13.3-inch HD personal entertainment screens, Bluetooth headphone pairing, and improved Wi-Fi
35kg checked baggage and 10kg cabin allowance
The Premium Economy cabin on Emirates’ latest Boeing 777 aircraft features 24 dedicated seats, offering a more spacious and refined travel environment. This rollout aligns with Emirates’ broader commitment to enhancing its in-flight product for Indian passengers.
Emirates currently operates 11 weekly flights between Kolkata and Dubai. The newly upgraded Premium Economy service on EK572/573 will complement the daily EK570/571 service, which continues to operate in standard configurations.
With India being one of Emirates' largest markets, the airline's Premium Economy expansion underscores its commitment to offering world-class travel experiences tailored to diverse passenger needs.
