Families and female travellers drive demand for curated international holidays
Dubai: As Eid Al Adha 2025 approaches, UAE residents are trading quick getaways for longer, more meaningful holidays, with travel bookings surging across premium international destinations.
According to a leading travel platform, this year’s Eid travel season is marked by a 40% jump in enquiries compared to 2024, fuelled by a rising appetite for immersive, bucket-list experiences and early planning.
Europe dominates the wishlists, with countries like Switzerland, France, Italy, Germany, Latvia, and Hungary (Budapest) emerging as top picks for UAE travellers. These scenic destinations offer cooler climates, rich culture, and iconic landmarks, ideal for extended 8—10-day itineraries. Japan also features prominently as a dream destination, especially for those seeking a blend of tradition and modernity.
Short haul hotspots
Meanwhile, short-haul hotspots in the Far East including Thailand, Bali, Malaysia, Singapore, and Hong Kong remain family favourites. These destinations strike the right balance between relaxation, city life, and affordability, making them ideal for 3—5-day Eid breaks.
“This year’s Eid travel trends reflect a deeper shift in how UAE residents view holidays. They want more than just a break; they are looking for experiences,” said Raheesh Babu, COO of musafir.com. “Whether it’s multi-city European tours or value-driven escapes in Asia, travellers are planning earlier and choosing destinations that deliver both meaning and value.”
