Dubai: Low-cost carrier Air Arabia has opened a new City Check-in facility at Al Barsha Mall in Dubai, offering passengers the ability to complete check-in formalities before reaching the airport.

This marks the airline’s second City Check-in centre in Dubai, bringing its total network to 14 locations across the UAE, including Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Ajman, and Ras Al Khaimah.

The facility is available to passengers flying out of both Sharjah International Airport and Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi, and aims to reduce congestion at airport check-in counters — especially ahead of the busy summer travel season.

How it works

Passengers can use the service to drop off their baggage and collect boarding passes between 48 and 8 hours prior to departure. This enables them to bypass check-in queues and proceed directly to immigration upon arrival at the airport.

The handling fee is Dh20 per passenger, and the facility operates daily from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM.

Additional services offered at the Al Barsha Mall check-in location include:

  • Extra baggage purchase

  • Seat selection

  • Flight modifications

Growing network

The launch is part of Air Arabia’s ongoing efforts to enhance passenger convenience through pre-airport check-in options. With 14 City Check-in points now operational across the country, the airline aims to streamline travel procedures for budget-conscious passengers while easing airport traffic.

The initiative reflects a wider trend among carriers looking to expand passenger services beyond traditional airport boundaries, particularly during high-demand periods like summer.
