Dubai: One of Dubai’s most anticipated end-of-season sale events kicked off on Tuesday morning, and price tags have been slashed heavily across a range of merchandise.

Doors to the Concept Big Brands Carnival, happening at the Dubai World Trade Centre from September 4 to September 8, opened at 10 am.

It has pooled together some of the popular labels across a number of categories, offering discounts of between 25 per cent and 75 per cent.

The sale is dubbed as one of the biggest of its kind in Dubai, and customers are assured they can score some discounts on everything, from clothes, shoes, perfumes, jewellery to watches and accessories.

The first few hours of the sale have already attracted some early-bird bargain hunters and more are likely to come, with the majority of the country’s consumers now on the lookout for discounts to save money.

McKinsey & Company has recently conducted a study among consumers in UAE and among the more than 1,000 respondents, 53 per cent said they are increasingly looking for ways to cut costs.

More than half of the consumers (53 per cent) said they go for sales promotions, while 48 per cent said they keep an eye on price tags when they shop.

Today’s sale at the Shaikh Rashid Hall runs from  10am to 10pm.
