Dubai: Dubai developer Limitless said on Sunday it has awarded a Dh227.5 million construction contract to complete work on two residential towers in Jebel Ali.

The contract, awarded to UAE-based Eastern International LLC, is for two residential towers at The Galleries at Downtown Jebel Ali, according to a Limitless statement.

Work on the towers “will start immediately” and is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2017, the statement said, adding that the towers feature 641 apartments and are 70 per cent complete.

“With the completion of these two towers, we can look forward to The Galleries growing into a full mixed-use, strategically-located community that combines top-flight office accommodation with high-standards of living and leisure,” Limitless chairman Ali Rashid Lootah said in the statement.

Limitless said it has seen an increase in demand for the residential units, which are located opposite four completed office towers that also make up The Galleries development.

The developer is pitching the development as “the perfect base” for people regularly travelling to both Abu Dhabi and Dubai. The development is a one-hour drive from Abu Dhabi while Dubai’s Jebel Ali metro station can be reached on foot.
