Dubai: Al Naboodah Construction Group said on Sunday it has won a number of new contracts recently with a total value of over Dh750 million, including a contract to construct new headquarters for a “leading airline.”

The company did not, however, name the airline or confirm whether the headquarters will be in Dubai or Abu Dhabi, but it is believed the airline is flydubai, which in December announced details of its new headquarters. The headquarters will be located on Emirates Road, flydubai said at the time.

Al Naboodah said in its statement that the complex it won a contract for includes a 46,700-square-metre office building, utility buildings, car parks and infrastructure. The project is due for completion by the end of next year.

Beside the airline headquarters, Al Naboodah said other contracts it won recently include the construction of new emergency service buildings, roads, street light construction, utilities installation for a residential development and four sub-stations for the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa).

Three of the four sub-stations for Dewa are contracted to Al Naboodah Construction through Mitsubishi Electric Corporation. The fourth one will be delivered in partnership with Siemens. Work on the sub-stations is scheduled to begin this month and be completed in early 2020.
