Integrated retail and service hub bolsters local economy and community needs
Sharjah: Jubail Market in Al Dhaid has attracted nearly 135,000 visitors in the first half of 2025, underscoring its growing popularity and pivotal role in serving the local community while enhancing economic activity in the region.
Talal Mohammed, Director of Central Region Markets, affirmed that the market has become a key destination for both residents and citizens in Al Dhaid and surrounding areas.
He noted that the impressive footfall reflects the increasing trust in the market’s service quality and variety of fresh products, all offered in line with the highest standards – ensuring that shoppers can conveniently find all their essentials under one roof.
“We remain committed to continually enhancing our services to meet customer expectations,” he said. “Our goal is to offer a seamless and enjoyable shopping experience that aligns with community aspirations and actively supports local economic development.”
Since its opening in 2022, Jubail Market in Al Dhaid has developed into a comprehensive retail destination featuring four main sections: meat, fruit and vegetables, fish, and a central courtyard. The market is also equipped with advanced storage and refrigeration units to preserve food quality and freshness.
The facility includes 86 commercial outlets, comprising:
24 meat and poultry shops, each fitted with display chillers, cold storage units, and rear service corridors.
45 outlets for fruits, vegetables, and dates, with a side area allocated for a cooperative society branch or supermarket.
16 fish stalls, complemented by designated areas for fish cleaning, preparation, and grilling.
Visitors further benefit from a range of amenities, including waiting areas, specialist restaurants, a traditional cafe, ATM, reception desk, public facilities, and prayer rooms for both men and women – making the market a fully integrated commercial and service hub for the wider Al Dhaid community.
Architecturally, the market stands out for its Islamic-inspired design, adorned with decorative elements inside and out.
The building adheres to high standards of safety and security, while harmoniously blending with the cultural and environmental character of the area. It has become a welcoming destination for families, residents, and tourists alike.
Spanning an area of 78,000 square metres in the Luwaidid district of Al Dhaid, the market is one of the landmark projects developed by Sharjah Asset Management, the investment arm of the Government of Sharjah.
