Dubai: The most anticipated day for consumers looking for bargains in the UAE capital is just a few hours away and shopaholics are also urged to prepare for flash sales, hourly prizes and mega shopping rewards.
The 24-hour Eid weekend mega sale in Abu Dhabi, which will kick off on Friday at 10am, will be a city-wide event and organisers have just confirmed that retailers at 15 malls will be slashing their price tags by up to 90 per cent. There will be savings to make when consumers buy jewellery, accessories, electronics, home furniture and sporting equipment.

Confirmed to participate in the bargain bonanza are the World Trade Centre Mall, Al Jimi Mall, Dalma Mall, Hili Mall, Marina Mall, Bawadi Mall, Yas Mall, Al Wahda Mall, Mushrif Mall, Khalidiyah mall, Mazyad Mall, Al Raha Mall, Madinat Zayed Shopping Center, Al Foah Mall and Barari Outlet Mall.
A prelude to the Abu Dhabi Summer Season (ADSS), the UAE capital’s answer to Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS), the mega sale is organized by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, in collaboration with the Department of Economic Development. It will also kick start the Eid fest celebrations at more than 1,500 shops.
Aside from the money-saving deals, some lucky shoppers can also score some generous giveaways, including a Tesla Model-X car, three million guest miles from Etihad and hourly spot prizes.
The mega sale is happening round the clock, starting at 10am on June 15 until 10am the next day. Mall operators have promised that it will be bigger and better than last year. There will be free shuttle buses for some shoppers, as well as discounts on Careem rides and free valet parking at past midnight.
Here’s what to expect at three of the participating malls tomorrow:
Yas Mall
Aside from 90 per cent discounts, shoppers will get a chance to win a Tesla Model X electric car, which is worth Dh370,000, provided they spend at least Dh300. Those who shop during the wee hours, from 2am to 8am, will get double coupons or twice the chance to drive home the car. Hourly spot prizes will also be given away to shoppers who stay up all night, from 12 midnight to 6am.
Shoppers from Yas Island hotels will enjoy free shuttle bus service to the mall, including special discounts on Careem rides and complimentary valet parking after midnight.
The mall will also be holding “happy hour’ flash sales or deals, while those who want to avail themselves of concierge service will get to enjoy 20 per cent discount on next day delivery of purchases made between midnight and 8am.
The Mall at World Trade Centre Abu Dhabi
Throughout the mega sale, shoppers will get a chance to win three million Etihad Guest Miles, which can be used to bag a business class flight to a number of destinations, including Thailand, Brisbane and South Africa. This deal is applicable to shoppers who stay up late or visit the mall from midnight to 6am, during which, they are entitled to receive one Etihad Guest Mile for every dirham spent. Special instant prizes await lucky shoppers as well. Those who love watching movies can enjoy an overnight movie marathon at Novo Cinema.
Al Jimi Mall al Ain
A raffle draw bonanza will be held during the 24-hour sale and some Dh100,000 worth of prizes will be up for grabs. Shoppers who spend Dh200 at any outlet could win Dh2,500 every hour until midnight. The financial reward will be doubled to Dh5,000 every hour once midnight strikes.
