Dubai: Food prices during the first week of Ramadan in Dubai edged up 0.28 per cent compared to the last week of the month of Shaban, according to a report from the Dubai Statistics Center (DSC) today.

The increase was a result of the rise in the prices of some items in the consumer basket. An increase was seen in the prices of fish and seafood (7.09 per cent), milk, cheese and eggs (0.99 per cent), and beverages (0.72 per cent).

However, prices of fruits and meat dropped.
