Dubai: Deira City Centre has announced a Dh22 million investment in redevelopment work — promising to enhance visitor experience with the introduction of new dining options and improved accessibility within some of the malls most popular areas.

Specifically, shoppers can look forward to a more open, airy Centre Court, easier Metro access and an entire upgrade of the food court.

“This announcement is in line with Deira City Centre’s vision to transform itself as a new, modern lifestyle destination. We’re pleased to introduce the redevelopment milestones to shoppers as they accompany us on this exciting journey that will ultimately enhance visitor experience across a number of key areas within the mall,” said Fuad Mansoor Sharaf, Senior Director – Property Management, Majid Al Futtaim Properties.

The new developments will be revealed in stages, starting with the Centre Court in late-May. The Centre Court — the pulse of all activity — will have a more open floor plan so that shoppers can easily pass through to spot their favourite shops or enjoy the exciting activities regularly taking place on the Centre Stage.

Next, the Dubai Metro entrance will undergo a makeover. Deira City Centre has plans to make this even more accessible with the addition of a direct access ramp. In June, even more commuters will be able to conveniently utilise the Metro Link. Lush green landscaping, scheduled for completion in August, will enhance the overall aesthetic of the area.

Added dining options and a more comfortable seating area will be unveiled in August. Deira City Centre currently has an extensive dining offer of over 60 International options across the City Walk, City Court and the 21-outlet food court. Providing visitors with added choice, the food court is set to introduce additional restaurant options to dine at. This follows the recent addition of three new restaurants — P.F. Chang’s, Texas Roadhouse and Gazebo — to the new City Court area. The scheduled enhancements are part of Deira City Centre’s redevelopment project.
