Dubai: Local developer, Limitless has broken ground on its $300 million project in Amman, Jordan. The tower will be the tallest buildings in Jordan on completion.

The residential twin-towers were launched on Monday at a ground breaking ceremony in Amman, attended by Jordanian Prime Minister, Nader Al Dahabi and Omar Maani, Mayor of Amman.

The $300 million project had previously been launched as Limitless Towers back in February, but is now called Sanaya Amman. Sanaya means 'starlight' in Arabic. The project will be in the Abdoun area of the Jordanian capital.

Saeed Ahmad Saeed, CEO of Limitless, said, "At Limitless, our vision is to enhance and enrich people's lives by delivering distinctive, sustainable developments. Sanaya Amman, our first project in Jordan, will help us turn this vision into a reality.

"Sanaya Amman sets new standards in sustainable, innovative building design. Today's groundbreaking marks the beginning of an architectural wonder that brings a new dimension to Jordan's real estate offering: a record-breaking, landmark destination combining luxurious, environment-friendly living with top-quality retail and leisure facilities, including green, outdoor spaces -the hallmark of all Limitless developments."

Not only will Sanaya be Amman's tallest offering, but also the greenest, with many eco-friendly initiatives in place to save around $2 million a year in running costs.

The development will comprise of over 50 storeys with 500 apartments, including one, two, and three bedroom apartments, plus duplexes and penthouses. There will be 10,000 square metres of retail space, 5,600 square metres of green, open space and a 1,000 square metre outdoor plaza.

Sanaya Amman will also have the world's highest suspended pool, linking the two towers at 125 metres. The project is scheduled for completion in around three years time.

Prices will not be announced until the project is launched for sale in August Infrastructure plans will come to life within the next six months, but Bahaa Abouhatab, regional director for the Levant and Turkey at Limitless, said the project is already ahead of schedule.

"Sanaya Amman has broken ground a month earlier than anticipated. We are currently at the excavation and mobilising stage. Infrastructure will begin towards the end of the year," said Abouhatab.

Limitless has named Chicago-based Murphy/Jahn as the lead designer on Sanaya Amman, and has appointed New York-based Turner International as Project Manager.
