A new, Dh2.4 billion mega project is rising in Sharjah following a "strategic partnership" formed between Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) and Eagles Hills, comprising three mega projects in the emirate.

The three projects announced on Tuesday will have extensive waterfront features and take up prime locations in Sharjah city.

Officials from Shorooq and Abu Dhabi-headquartered Eagles Hills unveiled on Tuesday Maryam Island development, which will take up 460,000 square metres in the heart of Sharjah and on the main waterfront.

There will be multiple components, including residential and those more geared towards tourism.

The second project, named Kalba Waterfront - will be Sharjah's new destination for shopping and lesiure pursuits.

The third will be a super-prime hotel development, named Palace Al Khan and taking up over 66,000 square metres, and will also feature proximity to the waterfront. It will be managed by Emaar Hospitality Group.
