Dubai: Construction works have formally commenced on Phase 3 of the Green Community master-development from Union Properties. This will see the addition of 227 units, of which 210 are townhouses, and a dedicated retail space. It will take up 1.48 million square feet.

“We will issue the tender for the main construction in early February, as we aim to complete the third phase of the project by February 2017,” said Khalid Bin Kalban, Chairman of Union Properties.

The project, expected to cost Dh680 million, will benefit from proximity to the World Expo 2020 site and the fact that it forms part of an already well-established upscale residential cluster. The enabling works are scheduled to be completed by the end of the first quarter of 2015.

“We have seen more offtake in the Green Community, and people are certainly interested in living in a community environment. So we e decided to expand the company’s flagship project the Green Community to accommodate a large number of buyers.”

The first two phases together built 1,555 units, with 719 units in Phase 1.
