Dubai: While Dubai has dropped off the list of global cities with the fastest upturns in premium after a run that started in 2012, American cities are making a comeback, according to the Knight Frank report.

New York, Los Angeles and Miami were respectively placed third, fourth and fifth in the Knight Frank rankings for the first-half of the year, behind Jakarta, in top spot, and Dublin, in second.

Dubai was in the 13th position globally.

Another US city was in the Top 10, with San Francisco claiming the seventh spot. Prime properties in Beijing grew in value terms to be placed sixth, while Sydney and London slotted in at the eighth and ninth positions.

“We noted last quarter the improving performance of luxury homes in North America,” said Kate Everett-Allen of Knight Frank. “This trend has continued in the second quarter.
