Dubai: Supermarket operator Carrefour ceased its operations in Oman, a move coming just two months after shutting shop in Jordan.

“Effective from January 7, 2025, Carrefour operations will be discontinued in the Sultanate of Oman. On behalf of the Management and Staff, we express our sincerest gratitude for your unwavering support over the decades,” a company statement read on social media.

In November, Carrefour said it was closing all its supermarket outlets in Jordan. “As of November 4, 2024, Carrefour will cease all its operations in Jordan and will not continue to operate within the Kingdom,” said Carrefour Jordan in a Facebook statement then.

“We thank our customers for their support and apologize for any inconvenience this decision may cause.”
